Origin of USE

Rooted in the enduring friendship between Japan and Taiwan, the company traces its origins to Junichi Kato, a young technology advisor dispatched from the Japanese headquarters to Taiwan. During his assignment, he discovered both the promising future of the electronics industry and the value of lasting partnerships.

Motivated by this experience, he returned to Taiwan and, in April 1975, established USE Electronics Co., Ltd. (友士電子有限公司) in Taipei. The company's Chinese name, "友士," embodies the happiness and growth that come from friendship, symbolizing the goodwill between Japan and Taiwan. As the business grew, the company's Chinese name was officially changed to 友士股份有限公司 in July 1988, marking a new stage of professional and international development.

Renowned Japanese ink artist Tansetsu Ogino created the calligraphy for "友士", conveying the brand's stability and professionalism. His notable works include lettering for Suntory Whisky Hibiki, Chita, Roku Gin, the NHK drama "Shinsengumi!", and Fukuju sake.
