BRAND INTRODUCTION
Wakashio Distillery, founded in 1968 in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, was established through the merger of five local breweries. Centered on its core product line, the "Satsuma Wakashio" series of sweet potato shochu, the brewery is dedicated to sustaining and innovating Kagoshima's traditional distilling culture. In 2018, marking its 50th anniversary, Wakashio embraced the theme of "where tradition meets trend," challenging new approaches to brewing.
Its fruit-forward GLOW shochu series has won the top prize at Japan's "Liquor Store Selected Shochu Awards" for three consecutive years and earned a place in the Hall of Fame. Additionally, the brewery introduced "424GIN," a craft gin distilled using traditional wooden stills and sweet potato shochu, and launched "f spirits," made from locally sourced, non-standard agricultural products, as part of its commitment to SDGs—actively pursuing innovative and exciting new beverages.
