Nagahama Distillery "Single Malt Nagahama" Limited Release of 120 Bottles in Taiwan — Official Launch on June 20

2000x670

Nagahama Distillery will release its first single malt whisky under the "Nagahama" name in 2020 — Single Malt Nagahama. Under the distillery's philosophy of "one cask, one expression," one cask each of bourbon, sherry, and mizunara oak matured single malt whisky has been bottled. The global limited release includes 254 bottles of bourbon cask, 204 bottles of sherry cask, and 260 bottles of mizunara cask. Taiwan's allocation is limited to 30 bottles each for bourbon and sherry casks, and 60 bottles for mizunara casks.

The first release in Taiwan will begin on June 20 at USE Sake Garden followed by a second release on June 23 at the SOGO Zhongxiao Summer Food Festival. Quantities are extremely limited, making this a truly collectible offering.

Refined Over Three Years

Nagahama Distillery began operations in 2016 within the Nagahama Roman Beer Company. Nestled between Mt. Ibuki and Lake Biwa, the distillery benefits from a unique natural environment that imparts distinctive character to its whisky. Using small Alembic pot stills and slender lyne arms, it produces new make spirit with both distinctive character and deep, rich flavor.

Currently, the distillery focuses on producing its new make spirit and the "AMAHAGAN" World Malt series, which blends its own spirit with imported whiskies.

On May 19, 2020, Nagahama Distillery released its first single malt whisky in Japan that complies with Scotch whisky standards, having been aged for three years. Following the "one cask, one expression" philosophy, each of the bourbon, sherry, and mizunara casks has been bottled as a single cask expression.

After three years of maturation, Nagahama Distillery proudly launches its first single malt whisky bearing the name of its origin, "Nagahama." This globally limited release will be officially available in Taiwan starting June 20, 2020.
