15th USE Cup Judan Tournament Moves to Tainan, Showcasing Go Culture and Corporate Social Responsibility
Founded by Junichi Kato, the USE Cup Judan Tournament has been proudly sponsored by USE Electronics Co., Ltd. since 2011. Now in its 15th edition, this year's event carries special significance as it coincides with our company's 50th anniversary. For the first time, the tournament moved from Taipei to Tainan, expanding its scale with two days of activities that reflect our commitment to promoting Go culture and fulfilling corporate social responsibility.
We carefully designed every detail of this year's event—from venue selection to visual presentation—combining professionalism with accessibility and integrating energy-saving concepts to highlight our dedication to sustainability and cultural development. Through interactive sessions, Go enthusiasts had the rare opportunity to engage with professional players, experience the excitement of the tournament, and deepen their appreciation for the cultural heritage of Go.
The first day featured "Teaching Games," where six professional players — LIU Yaowen, HSIAO Cheng-hao, LIN Chun-yen, YU Li-chun, BAI Xinhui, and LIN Yi-ting — played and interacted with Go enthusiasts of all ages, showcasing the passion and depth of Go learning. Our CEO and President, Junko Kato, attended in person to express gratitude to the participants for their support and to encourage the finalists, HSU Hao-hung and WANG Yuan-jun. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to Eric CHEN, Group Senior Project Manager in the Electric Vehicle Solutions Business at Delta Electronics, for joining us and helping to create such a vibrant atmosphere.
The opening game of the Judan Tournament took place on September 17 at Shangri-La Far Eastern, Tainan (Hotel), followed by a live commentary session at The Magic School of Green Technologies, attracting over 200 Go fans. The event featured real-time broadcasting, professional commentary, and interactive quizzes, creating an engaging and lively experience. We deeply appreciate the support from local Go enthusiasts in Tainan and those who traveled from across Taiwan, demonstrating the unifying power of Go culture.
We sincerely thank the Chinese Professional Go Association (CPGA), Haifeng Qiyuan, the National Cheng Kung University Go Club, and our partners at Shangri-La Far Eastern, Tainan, as well as all professional players for their invaluable contributions. This event was not only a celebration of skill but also a significant step toward embedding Go culture more deeply across Taiwan. We look forward to creating more opportunities for Go to serve as a bridge connecting generations and preserving cultural heritage.
