Professional Go Awards 2025: USE CEO Presents Judan Championship Trophy

The 2025 Taiwan Professional Go Awards Ceremony and New Professional Player Certification, hosted by the Haifong Go Academy, was held on January 9 at Denwell Taipei. USE Electronics Co., Ltd. CEO and President Junko Kato attended the ceremony to present the champion, runner-up, and third-place awards for the 15th USE Cup Judan Tournament, as well as the 2025 Most Popular Professional Go Player Award.



In her remarks, Junko Kato expressed her honor in joining many outstanding Go professionals at this year's ceremony. She shared that USE began sponsoring the USE Cup Judan Tournament fifteen years ago, inspired by her father's wish to support the development of Taiwan's Go community. Over the years, USE has continued working alongside Bough Lin (Lin Wen-Bo), Chairman of the Haifong Go Academy, to promote and strengthen the growth of Go in Taiwan.
Junko Kato also extended her appreciation to National Cheng Kung University, host of the 2025 USE Cup Judan Tournament, and thanked the Haifong Go Academy for its continuous support. She noted how inspiring it was to see many children and university students fully engaged in matches during the event, demonstrating their passion for Go. She emphasized that Go is an important part of Eastern cultural heritage and expressed hope that enterprises and professional players will continue collaborating to advance Go in Taiwan.
This year's ceremony presented 23 awards across 11 major professional tournaments, including the 2025 Rookie King Tournament, the 1st Longxing (Ryusei) Cup, the 6th Rapid Go Championship, the 6th Mingren Championship, the 11th Jianqiao Women's Strongest Tournament, the 13th Chunghwa Cup Go Sage Tournament, the 15th USE Cup Judan Tournament, the 17th Haifong Cup, the 18th Taiwan Weiqi Ace Tournament, the 21st Chunghwa Telecom National Champion Tournament, and the 24th Taiwan Tianyuan Tournament. Together, these tournaments represent key milestones in Taiwan's professional Go calendar and highlight the continued vitality and growth of the sport.
We extend our warmest congratulations to HSU Hao-hung, champion of the 15th USE Cup Judan Tournament; WANG Yuan-jun, the runner-up; and CHEN Chi-jui, the third-place finisher. We also congratulate all 2025 award recipients and newly certified professional players for their remarkable achievements.
