The 14th USE Cup Judan Tournament's best-of-five title match began on June 28 at the Haifong Go Academy. Junko Kato, CEO and President of USE Electronics Co., Ltd., attended the opening game to support the players and share her thoughts with the media.

 

CEO and President Junko Kato explained that Taiwan has long cultivated many exceptional Go players. The Judan Tournament was established by her father, Junichi Kato, the Founder of USE Electronics Co., Ltd., with the goal of promoting and supporting the development of Go in Taiwan. Through the USE Cup Judan Tournament, we aim to provide a meaningful stage for more talented players to showcase their skills. CEO and President Junko Kato also expressed appreciation to the media, whose dedicated coverage has helped increase public awareness of Go events.

 

In the opening match, LAI Jyun-fu, 8-dan, secured the first victory against HSU Hao-hung, the reigning Judan, who is currently on a six-title winning streak. LAI previously challenged HSU in the 2019 final, making this his second attempt at the Judan title. Meanwhile, HSU aims to achieve an impressive seventh consecutive championship.
