14th USE Cup Judan Semifinal Begins May 9
The quarterfinals of the 14th USE Cup Judan Tournament took place on May 2, 2024, showcasing a series of intense and thrilling matches among Taiwan's leading Go professionals. Congratulations to Wang Yuan-jun, Lai Jyun-fu, Hsu Ching-en, and Lee Wei, who have secured their places in the semifinals. The semifinal round will be held on May 9, followed by the challenger decision match on May 16. We invite Go enthusiasts to continue supporting the players as the tournament reaches its exciting final stages.
Round of 16 Opening Ceremony USE CEO and President Encourages Players
Since 2011, USE Electronics Co., Ltd. has proudly served as the sponsor of the USE Cup Judan Tournament. The event has grown to become Taiwan's fourth-largest professional Go competition, ranking just behind the Taiwan Mingren Championship Tournament, the Taiwan Weiqi Ace Tournament, and the Taiwan Tianyuan titles. The 14th USE Cup offers a prize of NT$700,000 for the champion, NT$300,000 for the runner-up, and NT$100,000 for the third-place finisher. The Round of 16 opening ceremony and drawing event were held on April 18, 2024. Junko Kato, CEO and President of USE Electronics Co., Ltd., attended the ceremony in person to extend her encouragement to the participants. She expressed her hopes that players will continue honing their skills through the USE Cup and strive toward becoming even stronger Go professionals.
The semifinals of the 14th USE Cup Judan Tournament will begin at 11:00 AM on May 9, with the challenger match following on May 16. Both matches will be livestreamed with professional commentary on the Haifong Go Academy YouTube channel, giving fans the opportunity to enjoy every highlight of the competition.
